How to use the magnification indicators for the QX5 and QX3 microscopes

Select Device from the Control Panel popup menu.

The purpose of the Magnification Area Indictor is to help find the item or area of interest under the microscope when switching between 10X to 60X or 10X to 200X.

Here are the steps is to setup the 60X magnification indicator for your microscope...
  1. On a small piece of paper make a mark like a plus sign and place it under the microscope at 10X magnification.
  2. Switch the microscope to 60X and center the plus sign to the center of the viewing area on the screen.
  3. Switch the microscope back to 10X.
  4. Click the 60X radio button and then click the Activate button. A blue square with a red border will appear for a specified number of seconds based on the slider position.
  5. Click inside the blue square and drag it and center it over the plus sign.
  6. The next time you want to look at something at 60X. Set the microscope to 10X, click the 60X radio button in the Device control panel and then click the Activate. Then center the item you want to look at under the blue square and then switch the microscope to 60X. Now the item should be much easier to find.

Here are the steps is to setup the 200X magnification indicator for your microscope...
  1. On a small piece of paper make a mark like a plus sign and place it under the microscope at 10X magnification.
  2. Switch the microscope to 200X and center the plus sign to the center of the viewing area on the screen.
  3. Switch the microscope back to 10X.
  4. Click the 200X radio button and then click the Activate button. A red square with a blue border will appear for a specified number of seconds based on the slider position.
  5. Click inside the red square and drag it and center it over the plus sign.
  6. The next time you want to look at something at 200X. Set the microscope to 10X, click the 200X radio button in the Device control panel and then click the Activate. Then center the item you want to look at under the red square and then switch the microscope to 200X. Now the item should be much easier to find.
